Melissa & Dax | Frisco, Colorado
When guests arrived to Melissa & Dax’s Surprise Engagement Party in Frisco, Colorado, they had no idea what was about to unfold. Since at least December, Melissa & Dax had been planning their “surprise engagement”, which would actually turn out to be an elopement. There is no way the couple could have predicted the crazy ride that 2020 would be, however their planning paid off and their elopement, which we were lucky enough to photograph in Frisco, Colorado. Melissa & Dax’s wedding day ended up being the beacon of hope we all needed for this crazy year. Collective by Sachs helped get their zoom wedding set up for unsuspecting guests who could not attend, while Graze and Torreys set up a scrumptious spread for everyone.
When Melissa & Dax finally arrived, the pastor gave his speech to inform everyone there would not be an engagement that evening. There was a tidal wave of gentle gasps from some guests, as others held their breath, waiting to see if there was more to the story. When he announced that guests would actually be attending the elopement of the couple, shrieks, screams, gasps, high fives and joy filled the Frisco, Colorado Music Hall.
The elopement ceremony went off without a hitch, as the couple ascended to the stage & made their commitment to one another. Following the elopement guests dined on barbecue bison and seasoned scalloped potatoes, as they sipped on the couple’s favorite whiskey, beer and wine. Everyone danced into the night, throughly enjoying the surprise that beautifully adorned such a strange year.
All the best in the years that follow,
